Today saw the completion of ship purchasing in QS3. Now in combination with mining, resource selling, warpjumping and homeworlds – that puts us days from a playable pre-alpha. Hopefully I can grab our Beta Testers to set up some testing in the weeks ahead. With the startup bugs dutifully squashed, the code base will be cleaned up, optimised, and the stage set for more advanced additions.

Trading has been implemented only to the point where selling resources is possible. Some of the mechanics of trading are being looked at next week to fit them into using the new trading functions. We’ve also started some optimising of SQL queries including query caching and optimised selects based on a passed MODE within functions.

Yep, we’re getting there. And it’s taken little more than a month to do it :).
