Revenge of the Sibilant Sithsss…

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Ok, did I enjoy it? ![]()
Actually I did. There was only one really confusing moment, but overall it beats the prior two movies hands down. Much of the movie was handled quite well, the cgi effects were not overdone, I got to see Yoda with lightsaber in hand, and everyones favourite droid had two of the funniest scenes.
What was confusing? Anakins switch from Jedi Knight to heartless murderer took place far far too quickly. There was little to no transition. One moment he’s reporting dark deeds to Wendu, the next he’s leading an assault against the Jedi.
Overall there’s a parallel between Episode III and the recent SWKOTOR game…you get the sense that although the Sith are all evil and need to be exterminated, that the Jedi are not entirely blameless. When did Wendu ever, and I mean ever, trust Anakin in any of the Movies? You get the feeling that the Jedi Way may be as much to blame for the emergence of Darth Vader as anything else. If they’d actually shown a little trust, Anakin would likely not have been so suspicious and mistrusting in return.
If you can’t trust someone, you can’t expect them to trust you…
Blogging

Why I blog…
I blog for two reasons. Firstly, it’s an age old method of collecting one’s thoughts (writing them down). It forces you to express in an actual readable format some of the random thoughts you’ve had during the day. Secondly, it’s a nice open way of giving the public some idea of your work, direction and opinions. For myself whether the blog is actually read or not is of far less importance than the act of writing the entries. I’ve always used writing as a method of thinking something through – being tangible evidence of that process that you can review into the future is invaluable…at least in my experience from my pen and paper days…![]()
There are lots of blogs on the net, I read quite a few on a weekly or monthly basis. It’s amazing to see the sort of content and ideas bloggers post about that never reach published articles or mailing lists. They’re often of far more interest than the usual dry toned articles that omit many nuances that the authors blog lays out. Many other blogs I read are more personal in nature. I must admit to a certain level of discomfort in reading some blogs, I guess I’m one of those types who view reading some blogs to be stretching into intrusive territory. The authors would probably giggle themselves silly at that one… Laugh, I’m from the pre-internet era… Being invited to read someone’s diary accounts isn’t always a naturally accepted action…![]()
Anyway, I keep finding blogs of direct interest to my own activities. The newest one is the blog for Mjac, a developer of Endless Wars SE, who is also a developer on the Solar Empire 2 project. SE2 is similar to QS3 in that each seeks to bring Solar Empire up to the highest standard possible. By adding templating, OOP, XHTML/CSS compliance, and much much more we hope to create Solar Empire games which will breath new life into the game.
