QGL under the New BSD License

One thing worth sort of mentioning is if Card Library is something worth adding. I had it in mind, but held off since for one, I’ve tried it before and failed. Two, it is extremely difficult to build an extensive library that offers any type of card and deck play.

*Difficult* is defined as, an extremely long and test intensive task with no real motivation and knowing if anyone would even use it.

After some thought and feedback, I think it might be something, since AI is part of the library and card games need AI. It might be fun poking around at the Java code to convert it to PHP.

Oh yeah, there might also already be a card library and that was another reason. Would it be something worth debating inclusion in the future? (If the library isn’t any good or doesn’t exist any longer.)

The way I see it, if the library can offer some classes for handling one deck of cards with even basic functionality, then it’s worth persuing. One thing I want to add is something for chess – though this is largely one of my “exercises” like Quantum_Turing. I don’t see anything wrong with adding stuff we’re interested in regardless of who else uses it. Besides I’d just burnout quickly working on the same thing too long – I’m currently looking at the manual since I just can’t get motivated to look at PHP today .

Same here actually. The more I do with the code I realized the more I’m going to have to write. The documentation as it stands currently isn’t going to be great, decent is a better description. Whether it passes with the users is another thing.

Really depends on how much you look over and edit. The crap I threw together might not be all what users will expect. I’m planning on writing up on this unexpected work a little bit later. However I have very little credibility on the topic, so it would be more of my opinion (which pretty much everyone accepts anyway).

It’s not all bad. I’m mainly editing for Quantum_Db right now. I raced across Library-Structure which I elaborated and left mostly as is. Will be looking at others later – decent is better than nothing afterall. Prototype did well until a few days ago with practically nothing but third party docs to go on.

Yeah, I’ve read through the changes, you’re practically owning my ass with the changes. However, I do like the changes as it is more formal and clear. Keep it up. I’m mostly working with the library license and documentation so that the phpDoc won’t be fill of errors.

I ran it before and it was a total mess. I’m going to run it again once all the changes are done and see if it is any cleaner.

Cool, At this rate we’ll have basic documentation kicking in no time. Sorry about the phpDoc mess, I think it’s my fault because I was self documenting and not really applying a good standard. I’ll make sure to follow your trend so this doesn’t reoccur. One the docbook files are organised and edited to a basic level I’ll take a pass with xml lint and validate it all. Then html generation should work from xsltproc and we can mess around with the CSS and get the manual online (and set up to auto update itself once in a while!).
